Speaking of which, in the <I>Tenchi Muyo!</I> series, Sasami Kawai, a schoolgirl herself, transforms into a fictional Sailor Moon clone called "Pretty Sammy". Yep, she's considered to be another <I>SM "</I>offspring". But you'll see a lot of that in animes -- young schoolgirls turning into superheroines. It's pretty common. </div> <div> Washu has two puppets by her side at many occasions, which almost perfectly resemble Washu. Known as "Chibi-A" and "Chibi-B", they are there to cheer her on and to give her lots of praise and encouragement.</div> <div> Ryoko loves Tenchi twice. Is there something wrong with this sentence? Not at all! Obviously, Ryoko loves Tenchi Masaki, the boy, but she also loves Tenchi, which is also the name of the sword found in the Masaki shrine that Ryoko wishes to possess its red, marble-sized jewels. So, Ryoko can love Tenchi…<I>twice</I>!</div> <div> The manga version of <I>TM! </I>is called <U>No Need for Tenchi</U>. Man, talk about being wanted!</div> <div> Every single episode of the <I>Tenchi Universe</I> series begins with the words "No Need For…". In other words, there's "no need for" any other words except those!</div> <div> Sakuya, a girl that lacks memory, tries to make it up by spending all her time with Tenchi, thus making new memories (and making Tenchi's libido go wild!). But believe it or not, Sakuya isn't a <I>real</I> girl. Yes, you heard it right! In the later episodes of <I>Tenchi in Tokyo</I>, Tenchi finds out that Sakuya, a girl he was loving more each day, is actually a creation of Yugi's. This happens to be the "heartbreaking" part in the entire Tenchi series.</div> <div> Laser swords are cool! And both Tenchi and Ryoko know that, since they both use them when they are in battle (Ryoko uses a double-bladed laser sword). Well, if you can't notice that Ryoko loves to wear a number of flamboyant, cleavage and skin-exposing outfits (no matter what she does), you should get your vision checked! Hey, this isn't a complaint at all -- I love Ryoko always no matter what, and besides, this fan-service girl does wear very conservative outfits (sometimes), so just remember: Ryoko makes eyes happy!</div> <div> Tenchi's estate has a hot spring in the backfield, like you'll see in most animes (for example: <I>Love Hina</I>). However, you'll always be sure to see some perverted teenage male being knocked to the moon for even glancing at the bare skin of a young lady. Tenchi, however, is one lucky bas-- er, um, I mean…<I>dude</I>. He's one of the few teenage anime male characters that doesn't get whacked to the sky for being around wet, toweled women in a hot spring, although that is a true breakage of privacy (but in this case, Ryoko and the ladies don't mind at all!).</div> <div> Did you know that Tenchi…is actually <I>Lord</I> Tenchi Masaki? In the beginning episodes of the <I>Tenchi Muyo!</I> series, we find out (from Ayeka) that Tenchi is actually royalty! Does that mean he gets to keep all the ladies for himself? No, wait, that would only happen if Tenchi was a <I>sultan</I>…</div> <div> In the eighth episode, Tenchi has to baby-sit a child that looks and resembles him in almost every way -- except that the baby probably does more crying than Tenchi, since he's surrounded by people wanting to touch him all day. Tenchi is a frustrated, yet friendly and well-brought up teenager, who lives with his father, as well as his grandfather, <B>Yosho</B>. Tenchi's family has their own shrine - the Masaki Shrine, which houses, according to legend, a 700-year old demon. Accidentally, Tenchi goes into the shrine and breaks the seal of the shrine and then awakes the demon -- who takes form as a beautiful young woman named <B>Ryoko</B>, </div> <bR> <div> <B>Ryoko </B>is a ruthless, carefree, sassy, yet sexy space pirate. Her only cares are money, traveling, wearing skimpy outfits (which we love, right?), and, of course, Tenchi! Go figure! Ryoko is a renegade who is running away from her mortal enemy, named <B>Dr. Clay</B>, who will try everything in his power to capture and manipulate Ryoko. Dr. Clay is the diabolical man behind the creation of <B>Zero</B>, an android robot out to destroy Ryoko. Ryoko is also trying to avoid and protect her new-found friends from <B>Kagato</B>, who tries to challenge Yosho, Tenchi's grandfather, to a duel to the death. But as for her and Tenchi, she sticks along with him, and then all the rest of the vivacious interplanetary vixens come along.</div> <bR> <div> First, there's the lovely Princess<B> Ayeka Kawai</B>, who brought along her lively, cheeky-cute, younger sister <B>Sasami</B>, who both come from the planet Jurai. Ayeka and Sasami, respectively, are a royal pair (they are both princesses of Jurai), but they never let their royalty get in the way of attracting Tenchi. Ayeka is an elegant debutante who loves to rule her planet with peace and an aura of ladylike warmth (but sometimes she can be an "uppity" outspoken brat without knowing it), while being watched by her two talking guardians (which are tall, round, wooden cylinders that look like space <I>Port-a-Potties</I>).  </div> <bR> <div> <B>Sasami Kawai</B>, a fourth-grader, is a playful, energetic, loving, yet hard-working girl who likes to be the "maid" around Tenchi's pad -- cooking, cleaning, you name it. Her companion is <B>Ryo-Ohki</B>, a frisky, magical, carrot-chomping pet who's a cross between a cat and a bunny, and can also turn into a spaceship. Cool, huh? Ryo-Ohki is more of Sasami's buddy, but she was actually Ryoko's spaceship and pet in the first place.</div> <bR> <div> Next came the extremely cute, compassionate, and extremely scatterbrained (!) Galaxy Police officer <B>Mihoshi</B> (and later on, her serious, determined, and alluring partner <B>Kiyone</B>, who is the 6th roommate). Mihoshi, who has a very high rank in the Galaxy Police Force (she's got connections!), is a real sweetie, but her mind may sometimes be somewhere in space (but doesn't everyone have that problem?). That's why her partner (not by choice, apparently) Kiyone is the professional, yet hot-tempered lady that's there to keep her in check, and to make sure that they don't lose their Galaxy Police badges! Still, Mihoshi is a real babe, and overlooking her silliness, she is a real doll and a funny girl -- fun to be with, I bet!</div> <bR> <div> Finally, the last houseguest to make an appearance is the charming, lovely, innovative, and pink-haired scientist <B>Washu</B>. With a brain full of ingenuity, and a face full of love, Washu loves to seclude herself behind an invisible door to protect her from the "madness" that goes on between the other ladies and gentleman in the Masaki residence. She types madly on her keyboards and tries to create new stuff to protect the others from anything that might come up (you never know, Ryoko might have a bad hair day, or something). She's the friendly and informative female who can do so many cool things…and if you call her "Little Washu", she'll do just about anything for you (like building an interplanetary portal -- something everbody needs, I bet!)! </div> <bR> <div> Seems like all those girls can get along? With Tenchi, of course! But with each other, now, that's another story. Ayeka and Ryoko are total <I>kitties</I> -- they never seem to agree on anything, except nicknames for each other (Ayeka is dubbed as the "annoying, ugly space princess", and Ryoko is penned as the "obnoxious space pirate"). And obviously, Mihoshi and Kiyone are the female anime version of the <I>Odd Couple</I>. Washu and Sasami seem like the only female characters that can live in peace with all. But one thing's for sure -- Tenchi is the apple of all the girls' eyes (hopefully, Ryo-Ohki won't eat that apple :P). It's one heck of a house party as Tenchi remains calm with six women under his wing! The adventures of Tenchi and his new-found lady friends are seen in the <I>Tenchi Muyo!</I> and <I>Tenchi Universe</I> series.</div> <bR> <div> Later, in the <I>Tenchi in Tokyo</I> series, things really get heated up. As the title says, our main man Tenchi travels to Tokyo, in search of peace and tranquility from the six gorgeous, but contagious ladies (not to mention his dad, his grandfather, and the ever-perky Ryo-Ohki). Here, while trying to enroll into a new school, he meets (and falls in love) with another pretty girl, named <B>Sakuya</B> (no, she's no <I>Cardcaptor</I>!), whose stunning emerald-green eyes and soft voice could melt the heart of any guy. Unfortunately, it's Tenchi's heart that gets melted. The female houseguests at the Masaki household get curious, and then travel to Tokyo in Pursuit of the "heartbreaking hottie", and, well, you'll have to see the series to see what happens later! But I can tell you one thing: It's up to our boy Tenchi and his female friends to battle against another female names <B>Yugi</B>, a cute, but over-powered girl who tries to take over the universe, as well as break up Tenchi's relationships with Sakuya, and the other ladies. Yugi takes both the form of a playful, sugar-sweet girl (that tries to be best friends with Sasami) and a cloaked manipulator with a dark appearance.</div> <bR> <div> Even much later in the <I>Tenchi In Love</I> series, you'll see all the characters -- especially our boy Tenchi -- all grown up! Adult Tenchi is the love interest of the beautiful <B>Haruna</B>, who is as determined as the other girls to win Tenchi's heart. </div> <bR> <div> Think of this series as <I>Three's Company</I>…to the extreme! This is definitely one of the great anime series, and definitely one-of-a-kind. Comedy, romance, adventure, wacky hairstyles, cute critters, SD's by the bunches, and a bubbleheaded blonde who happens to be a police officer! What more could you ask for?
